High-Flying Junior Raises Eyebrows

Walk around any tournament in the country and you’ll hear players, coaches and fans talking about the games and those moments that make for great conversation. The one player that had everyone talking at the recent NACA national tournament in Dayton, Tenn. was Faith Christian’s (Va.) Kintrell Biddle. The 6-foot-7, 175 pound junior showed off his athleticism all weekend. We caught up Biddle and discussed his recruitment.
Biddle exploded for 31 points in the semi-finals and 17 points in the championship game. A majority of his points came on thunderous dunks and high-flying buckets. Although Faith Christian (21-11) didn’t win the national title, he was named to the all tournament team.

“I played good as an athlete within the system that the coach gave me and I’m pretty happy with my performance but I wish I did better. But I did what I was asked,” Biddle said.
If being asked to score above the rim and make some poor souls poster material, then mission accomplished. Coaches in attendance were intrigued by Biddle’s athleticism and potential. The Fayetteville, North Carolina native also possesses a 78-inch wingspan Biddle played some minutes at the point guard spot, giving opponents headaches trying to find a good defensive match up.
“I can see right over people when I play the point,” Biddle said. “Plus, my ball handling is pretty good, too. I think I’m athletic enough to blow by people.”
Coaches from Air Force, Baylor, Clemson, East Carolina, Miami (FL), Richmond and Western Carolina are all evaluating the junior at the present time.
Biddle, who averaged 12 points and 12 rebounds this season, said he’ll split time between the Charlotte Aces and Richmond Squires this summer on the AAU tour. On the individual side of things, the junior will play in the prestigious ABCD camp in New Jersey as well.
