Hickey plans to wait longer

Anthony Hickey wants to prove he's one of the better point guards available in the 2011 class and so the Hopkinsville (Ky.) Christian County prospect said he doesn't plan to even start narrowing his list until the middle or end of his senior season.
"I'm going to start narrowing down later," Hickey said. "It will probably start toward the middle or end of the year."

Western Kentucky, Southern Illinois, Murray State, Marshall and others are involved with Hickey, a 5-foot-10, 162-pound prospect who said Cincinnati, Florida International and many others are also showing interest.
Western Kentucky was considered a favorite before four-star guard Cezar Guerrero from Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco committed but Guerrero backed off that pledge. The Hilltoppers are back under consideration but Hickey has said he was a little hurt by those events.
As it stands now, Hickey is keeping all his options open and just wants to play well so more schools get involved. Since the season is just getting underway, Hickey wants to take his time and keep his recruitment wide open with all options on the table.
When Hickey finally makes his commitment, the Christian County point guard said he'll be looking to get on the floor early.
"I'm still open," Hickey said. "I'm looking at everyone that's on my list. I just want to play early on."
