Hernandez Busy Entertaining Schools

Rising combo forward Hector Hernandez from Abraham Lincoln High School has a host of schools coming to Denver, Colorado for in-home visits. Wyoming, Oregon State, Iowa State, Kansas State, and South Alabama all have scheduled upcoming visits.
Last night Fresno State was in the Hernandez home.

“It was great,” Hernandez said. “I will go there some time in October. I am excited about all the schools. It is good for me to have this experience.”
Fresno State is not the only school that the versatile and mobile 6-foot-8, 210-pound Hernandez plans on visiting.
“I will also visit Portland State, Kansas State, and Utah,” he said. “I also want to visit Oregon State.”
All five of the schools he plans on visiting have offered scholarships except for Utah and Oregon State.
“Utah wants to see me play more,” he explained. “And I am not sure why Oregon State has not offered.”
One offer that is no longer on the table is a scholarship from Texas Tech after the commitment of small forward Phil Harbaugh.
Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, Hernandez has only been in America and speaking English for three years. He has, nonetheless, a 3.5 GPA in his core classes and is anticipating taking both the ACT and SAT in October.
Hernandez, the No. 23 power forward and No. 82 player in the Rivals150, plans to make a commitment this fall.
“I want to go and see the differences between the schools,” he said. “But I might like one school enough to go ahead and make a decision.”
