Head coaches tracking Royal

Four-star power forward Julian Royal had plenty of coaches tracking his progress as he helped lead Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton High School to a state championship.
Royal, 6-foot-7, 200-pounds, has a wide open list and will wait until the spring of his senior year, but head coaches are not wasting time in pursuing him.

Head coaches from Georgia Tech, Georgia, Wake Forest, Alabama, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and Virginia all watched Royal play this year.
As far as which schools are showing him the most attention, Royal named Georgia Tech, Georgia, Wake Forest, Alabama and Ohio State as the schools calling on him the most.
During the recruiting process, Royal will concern himself primarily with the relationships he develops with the different programs recruiting him.
"I'll be looking at the people," said Royal. "I want to know what kind of person the coach is. All the campuses are nice. I just want to make sure I surround myself with good people."
Royal averaged 18 points on a loaded team, but what is most impressive is the way he is rounding out his game.
"This year I got stronger and was able to create more shots for myself off the dribble," he said. "I want to keep working on guarding on the perimeter and improve my ball handling."
Royal, who is the No. 30 ranked prospect in the Rivals150 for the class of 2011, will run with the Southern Kings on the travel circuit.
