Head coaches scout top prospects

Proving that recruiting is a year round business, three of the country's highest profile coaches spent part of their weekend watching two of the top 2008 prospects play.
In Louisiana for his match up with LSU on Saturday, Connecticut head coach Jim Calhoun spent Friday night watching Greg Monroe, the No. 1 ranked prospect in the class of 2008. Monroe scored 19 points in a 56-52 Helen Cox win over rival Karr High School.

Al-Farouq Aminu, the No. 9 ranked prospect in the class of 2008, received some major attention while his Norcross High School squad played a couple games this weekend in Lexington, Ky. Kentucky head coach Tubby Smith watched Aminu put up 19 points in a win on Friday. And then North Carolina's Roy Williams watched Aminu go for 26 points in a run away win on Saturday.
Neither prospect has trimmed his school list, but Monroe is considering the likes of Duke, LSU, North Carolina, Louisville, Kentucky, Florida, Texas, USC, Connecticut and Kansas. Aminu is considering Georgia Tech, Florida, Clemson, Georgia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Connecticut, Florida State, Tennessee and Wake Forest.
