Justin Hawkins, a 6-6, 195-pound forward from Anaheim, California, has had a solid ABCD camp this week in Teaneck, New Jersey. Hawkins, who already has achieved a qualifying SAT score, bounces up and down the court real well and finishes nicely in transition.
"I am trying to work on my ballhandling," Hawkins said. "For me to be a better player on the next level this is something I have to improve in."
Hawkins, who will next attend the Three Stripes tournament on Long Island starting tomorrow, told us that Boston College, Marquette, Notre Dame, DePaul, Utah, and Oregon are very high on his list. "I visited Arizona early," Hawkins said. "But they aren't recruiting me anymore. I also like Stanford but the other schools are recruiting me more."
Hawkins said distance will not determine where he goes to school. "I just want to go to the best place where I fit in," he said. "Wherever that is I don't know yet. But it won't matter what part of the country the school is in. I will go there if it's the best school."
