Since deciding to attend Brewster Academy prep school next year, Harvey Perry, the outstanding 6-foot-4, 189-pound combo guard from Cheyenne High School in Las Vegas, NV., has seen the number of schools involved in his recruitment steadily increase throughout the year. While a number of high major programs are interested in his services, Perry is wide-open when it comes to his recruitment.

“Harvey is doing just fine. We lost in the semifinals of the state tournament, so we are finished for the year,” Harvey’s father, Harvey Perry, Sr. said. “Harvey is wide open when it comes to his recruitment, but Arizona, Arkansas, Marquette, UCLA, Utah, Minnesota and Tennessee are some of the schools involved in his recruitment. There are no favorites at this time.
“Harvey is just looking for the best situation in terms of what he is looking for in a school,” he added. “Early playing time will certainly factor into that decision. The distance or area of the school is not a factor.”
When Perry’s time at Cheyenne High School is complete, he will spend a year at Brewster Academy prep school before ultimately making a decision about his future. Until that time comes, Perry will be traveling to Arizona every weekend to practice with the Arizona Magic, the AAU team he will be playing with this summer.
“Now that Harvey’s season is finished, he will travel to Arizona every weekend to practice with the Arizona Magic,” Mr. Perry said. “Several AAU teams from California called about Harvey, but I really felt that the Arizona Magic was the best situation for my son. Just about every player on that team is a Division 1 player, so it was definitely a good fit for Harvey.”
Perry averaged 17-points, 10-rebounds, 5.2 assists, four steals and three blocks per game this season.
