Hare Recommits to Belmont

Combo guard Justin Hare from Bradley Central in Cleveland, Tennessee has recommitted to Belmont University of the Atlantic Sun Conference. The 6-foot-2, 192-pound Hare decommitted just prior to the fall signing date when Stanford declared him as their top guard priority in 2004.
After retaking the ACT and applying for school, Stanford informed Hare that they were not going to offer him a scholarship two days before his scheduled official visit to Palo Alto.

“He did take the visit, but they didn’t offer,” said Bradley Central head coach Kent Smith. “They made the initial contact in November and said that their top guard priorities could not get into school. They said Justin was now their top priority of the four guards they were still recruiting. If Justin could improve his ACT score and get accepted into school, they said they had a scholarship for him. He was accepted, but two days before his visit they called and said that after further reviewing tape and talking it over they could not offer him.”
“So now it looks like Belmont. As soon as Belmont heard that Stanford was not going to offer, Coach Byrd [Belmont head coach] called, and Justin told him he was coming to Belmont.”
Bradley Central is 23-2 and looking to win a state championship after finishing runner up last year.
