Hansbrough Set To Visit North Carolina

Tyler Hansbrough, the No. 5 ranked player on the Rivals150 list, was scheduled to be on the North Carolina campus this weekend for an unofficial visit. The 6-foot-9, 230-pound power forward from Poplar Bluff High School in Poplar Bluff, Mo., had planned the visit before the Tar Heels coaching staff asked for permission to speak with David Padgett.
“Yes, my dad and I are still leaving for North Carolina on Friday,” Hansbrough said. “I have not talked to Coach Williams yet about what has taken place during the last few days, but we will have time to talk this weekend. I really don’t know what I am going to do, but I will think about that when I return from my visit.”

It is believed that North Carolina is the overwhelming favorite to land the No. 3 ranked power forward in the class of 2005, but that might not necessarily be the case. There is no doubt that Hansbrough has a high amount of interest in Coach Williams and the Tar Heels, but he wants to make sure that he makes the best decision.
“Kansas, North Carolina and Kentucky are the three schools that I am looking at,” Hansbrough said. “I just need to go down and talk to Coach Williams and see what’s going on. I do not know if anything has changed or not. I have not talked to Coach Williams since they got involved with David (Padgett).”
