Hansbrough Set To Announce On Monday

After several months of speculation, Tyler Hansbrough is ready to let the world know where he plans to attend college after his senior year. The 6-foot-9, 230-pound power forward from Poplar Bluff (Mo) High School has scheduled a press conference for Monday, August 23, at 6:00 CST. Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina and Missouri are the finalists.

“Tyler came to me earlier today and asked if it would be possible to have a press conference on Monday,” Poplar Bluff High School Head Coach John David Pattillo said. “I have to verify to see if we can use the gym on Monday, but I don’t think that it will be a problem. The girls have volleyball practice at 7:00 CST, so Tyler would like to announce his decision at 6:00.

“I do believe that he has already made a decision about what school he plans to attend, but I don’t know if any of the coaches have been contacted yet,” he added. “Now that Tyler has acquired all of the appropriate information, I think he feels that he is finally ready to make his decision. I also think that he feels comfortable making the decision at this time.”

Rivals.com ranks Hansbrough as the No. 8 best player in the class of 2005 and the fourth best power forward.
