Hansbrough Receives Big Time Visit

Tyler Hansbrough is still in the early stages of his recruitment, but the Kansas coaching staff has already made a lasting impression on the 6-foot-8, 220-pound power forward from Poplar Bluff High School in Poplar Bluff, MO. Despite the fact that No. 6 Kansas had a game on Friday night, a member of the staff made the trip to Poplar Bluff High School on Thursday.
“Yea, Coach Jankovich was here last Thursday. He came by and spent a little time with my high school coach,” Tyler Hansbrough said. “The visit really impressed me because I have a strained Achilles, so I haven’t been practicing or working out, but Kansas wanted to show that they are really interested in me, so Coach Jankovich talked with my coach. Kansas had a game on Friday night and I know they were getting ready for that, so the fact that a member of the staff visited my school was a real shock.”

Hansbrough was scheduled to unofficially visit the University of Kansas back in September for Midnight Madness, but he canceled at the last minute. From that point on, many people believed that he was no longer interested in Bill Self’s program, but that simply is not the case.
Hansbrough’s interest in the Kansas program has greatly increased in the past few days, but that does not mean he is ready to end his recruitment just yet.
“I was going to trim my list of schools last month, but I have not done that yet,” Hansbrough said. “I’m just going to take my time with that process and see what happens. Kansas, Duke, North Carolina, Florida, Arizona, Kentucky, Michigan State, Illinois, Missouri and UCLA are the schools that I like. I really don’t know when I will trim my list of schools.”
Hansbrough's father attended Missouri, so one might get the impression that the Tigers are the team to beat. While Hansbrough is more than interested in the MU program, he has stated time and time again that he isn't a lock to attend MU.
While nothing is set in stone, it is likley that Hansbrough will officially visit Kansas, Missouri, Duke, North Carolina and Florida before making a decision about his future.
