Hamilton Talks About St. Johns

Lamont Hamilton, a 6-9, 253-pound power forward/center from Milford Academy in Milford, Connecticut, has committed to St. John's.
The junior, who averaged 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks this past season for Coach Bob Riggio, has long been considering the Big East program, but only decided to officially cast his lot in the past week.

"(St. John's) has been looking at me a long time, and I think they are deserving of the commitment," said Hamilton. "I spoke with my parents about my decision, and they are ok with it."
Hamilton, a native of Brooklyn who spent his freshman and sophomore years of high school at Bishop Ford in Brooklyn, spent his junior year at Milford and was reclassified as a junior this year. Hamilton, who plays with the Long Island Panthers, has a large wingspan and a sturdy frame. He is a solid outlet passer who impacts the game at the defensive end of the floor. His offensive repertoire is still developing.
This is a quality pick-up for St. John's out of the class of 2003.
