The staff of Seton Hall has been bouncing around the area and country talking to and evaluating some of the top talent in 2003 and 2004. One of the best in 2003 is Charlie Villanueva, the highly sought after combo forward from Queens, New York.

The Pirates staff will be in home tonight with Villanueva's family in an effort to convince Charlie to sign with Seton Hall next month. The Pirates are one of three schools left in the recruiting process. Villanova and Illinois also are in the running to land Charlie.
Villanueva has three official visits planned. Charlie is going to visit Illinois on September 27th, Seton Hall on October 4th, and Villanova on October 25th. Each of these schools will have taken an in school and in home visit before the period ends. Then Villanueva is going to probably make a college decision.
Villanueva, who had a rock solid summer, can spray you with jumpers from beyond the three or hammer you with a thundering dunk in transition. He runs the floor well and is agile enough to play several positions on the college level.
Villanueva should have a big year at Blair. He is one of the obvious candidates for the McDonald's All American game.
