Hairston Thinking About More Visits

It looks like the recruitment for Malik Hairston might last a little longer than some had hoped. The 6-foot-6, 190-pound shooting guard / small forward from Renaissance High School in Detroit, MI., has taken official visits to UCLA, Ohio State and Kansas, but it looks like he will take at least two more.
“Yea, I really had a good time during my trip to Kansas,” Hairston said. “Keith Langford was my host, which was cool. I didn’t really have a lot of specific questions I wanted answered, but I wanted to get a good feel for the players and see how they interacted with each other.”

At one point it looked like Hairston would make a decision between UCLA, Ohio State and Kansas, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. There is a good chance that he might select one of the three schools, but he plans on taking at least one or two more visits, if not more.
“I plan on unofficially visiting Michigan and Michigan State, but no dates have been scheduled for those visits yet,” Hairston said. “Virginia Tech is also a possibility, but that’s something my dad and I are going to talk about.
“If I decide that I’m seriously interested in Michigan or Michigan State, I will schedule those visits within the next week or two,” he added. “I should know a lot more once my dad and I talk more about it.”
Hairston indicated that he would probably know more about his future in the next week or so. He is taking his time with the recruiting process and nobody can blame him. He’s on the verge of making the biggest decision of his life, and it’s only natural that he feels comfortable with his decision.
Rivals.com ranks Hairston No. 6 on the Rivals150 list and the best shooting guard in the class of 2004.
