Hairston Reschedules UCLA Visit

Malik Hairston has changed his mind again. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound shooting guard from Renaissance High School in Detroit, MI., was scheduled to officially visit UCLA later this week, but that visit will no longer take place. Hairston will visit Ohio State the weekend of September 5 and, if all goes as planned, will take his visit to UCLA the following weekend.
“Malik is no longer taking his official visit to UCLA in August,” Hairston’s father said. “He will now be visiting UCLA during the weekend of September 12. The reports about Malik being on the UCLA campus this past week for an unofficial visit are false.

“Malik is still scheduled to visit Ohio State on the weekend of September 5,” he added. “An official visit to Kansas is still in the works, but no date or time has been set.”
It has been a crazy month for Hairston because all three schools were hoping to get him in for a visit during the first weekend in September. Now that he is back in school and away from the telephone, Hairston should resume somewhat of a normal lifestyle.
If Hairston does schedule an official visit to Kansas, it could very well be the last visit he takes. It appears that Ohio State, UCLA and Kansas are the teams to beat for the highly talented Michigan native.
Until Hairston schedules a visit to Kansas, the Bruins and Buckeyes are clearly in the drivers’ seat.
Rivals.com ranks Hairston No. 6 on the Rivals150 list and the best shooting guard in the class of 2004.
