Hairston leads South to championship

HILLSBORO, Ore. - It was another big night for P.J. Hairston as he led the USA South to a Nike Global Challenge championship over the USA Midwest, earning MVP for his efforts.
Hairston lit it up for 41 points in the 123-115 South win. He shot 13-of-28, 2-of-8 from behind the arc and made 13-of-14 free throws.

Almost matching him point for point was Midwest shooting guard Bradley Beal, who scored 40 points on 13-of-23 shooting, 5-of-12 from three and 9-of-12 from the line. Beal also had eight rebounds.
Hairston had help from Kentavious Caldwell, Adonis Thomas and Zach Price. Caldwell registered 21 points and 11 rebounds. Thomas had 20 points, five rebounds and five assists to only one turnover. Price went for 17 points and eight rebounds.
Midwest point guard Jahii Carson had a terrific tournament. In the championship game he had 28 points, nine rebounds and six assists with six turnovers.
