Hairston Changes Plans

It wasn't long ago that many basketball fans didn't know much about Malik Hairston. Now everyone does after his great spring of AAU ball.
The 6-foot-5 swingman from Detroit, Michigan has proven to many he is a top 25 player in the 2004 class. RivalsHoops.com currently ranks him 12th in the latest list.

Hairston was going to be at the Ohio State basketball camp next week. But this has changed. Hairston is now going to compete at the USA Basketball Festival in Colorado Springs.
Before Hairston plays at Colorado Springs, he will take the ACT today. He will also be at the NBA Players camp this week in Richmond, Virginia. RivalsHoops.com will have coverage of this event on this site later in the week.
The Buckeyes are near the top of the list but there is plenty of competition for the Ohio State program. UCLA, Kansas, Michigan State, Indiana, Missouri, Arizona, and Purdue were mentioned by Hairston as schools being considered. UCLA, Kansas, and Michigan State along with Ohio State are among the schools to beat in this recruiting process.
Reporter Russ Blake watched Hairston play at the NIKE Memorial Day Classic and at the Spiece Event. Hairston led The Family into the elite eight at the Nike Memorial Day Classic. He was also one of the big cogs earlier as The Family reached the final four of the Spiece Run N Slam.
