GW Back In Mix With Deng

During the course of a recruiting campaign, many surprises do take place. One of the big surprises so far in the 2003 campaign has been the great recruiting progress George Washington has made.
Led by head coach Karl Hobbs and a hard working staff, George Washington has made its way back into the race for Luol Deng, RivalsHoops.com's second rated player in 2003. Deng, who plays at Blair Academy in New Jersey, has already taken two official visits. Both visits have been terrific for Deng, according to Luol.

But GW now will have their shot. When it looked like their chances were fading, Hobbs and his staff have managed to convince Deng to take a visit to the GW campus this weekend after Luol takes his SAT.
This is a major step for the GW program. Many thought they would be an outsider in this process. But several sources tell us that GW will have a serious shot at Deng.
Deng, a 6-8 multi-purpose player, has already visited Virginia and Missouri. It appears that Deng is giving each school a fair chance to sign him next month.
There are other competitors in this race too. Mike Davis of Indiana has also done a tremendous job in recruiting Deng as has the Duke staff. Deng will visit both school in October before deciding on a school of choice.
