Greenman Propels Hermits Past Towson Catholic

LEWES, Del. -- Scott Greenman connected on a pair of three point baskets in the fourth quarter to help St. Augustine build a 10 point lead, and the Hermits staved off a late Towson Catholic comeback to emerge with a 63-59 victory over the Owls on Sunday afternoon at the 2001 Slam Dunk to the Beach.
Greenman's second consecutive three pointer came at the 5:54 mark of the fourth quarter, and gave St. Augustine a 49-39 edge in the Tommy Jacobs Memorial tilt.

Towson rallied in the final five minutes, pulling to within 61-59 on a three pointer from forward Matt Stevenson with :04 to play.
The Hermits' Eric Gormley hit a pair of free throws moments later to put the game out of reach.
Greenman was a force from the perimeter all game long, knocking down five of 12 from beyond the arc on the way to 23 points. Siena bound Michael Haddix did much of the dirty work inside for St. Augustine, scoring 18 points and hauling down eight rebounds. Impressive freshman guard Anthony Farmer tallied 11 points for the winners.
Unsigned senior off guard/swingman Darnell Hopkins paced Towson with 19 points, forward Jamal Smith added 14 and Stevenson 12 for the Owls.
