Green Talks About His Verbal

Jeff Green, a 6-foot-8 and 215-pound forward from Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Mary., made a verbal commitment today to Georgetown. Green spoke to RivalsHoops.com on Friday evening at the Charlie Weber tournament at the University of Maryland.
"It was close to home and I like the academic situation there," Green said. "I see myself playing the small forward and power forward positions at Georgetown. I am more aggressive now. I am going down low more and getting rebounds."

Green said he averaged 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks last season. "I also considered Maryland, George Washington, Syracuse, and Pittsburgh," Green said. "Having big games in front of the coaches helped my confidence."
Green is still trying to get a qualifying score on the SAT. He is confident he will reach that goal soon.
Jeff did not play at many of the big tournaments this past summer. This cut down the chances many of the high major programs of seeing him in July. However, many schools saw him at some small events this summer and liked his aggressiveness and his ability to defend and rebound. He has long arms and is able to bounce up quickly with his leap.
