Green Plans To Visit UNC, PITT

Danny Green, the 6-foot-5, 180-pound shooting guard from St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, N.Y., has spent quite a bit of time thinking about his recruitment during the last few weeks. The No. 89 ranked player in the class 2005 has five schools that stand atop his list and, as it stands right now, is set to visit two schools in the fall.
“North Carolina, Pittsburgh, St. John’s, Connecticut and Georgia Tech are the schools at the top of my list,” Green said. “I plan to take an official visit to North Carolina during their Midnight Madness, and I plan to visit Pittsburgh in September. I am also trying to schedule in-home visits with both schools.

“North Carolina and Pittsburgh are the only schools that I plan to visit right now,” he added. “It doesn’t look like I will take all five official visits, but that can always change. I will see how things go after my visits to North Carolina and Pittsburgh.”
While Green has made it perfectly clear that he plans to consider all of his options, several family members and friends appear to be favoring one school in particular.
“A lot of people ask me why I haven’t given a commitment to North Carolina,” Green said. “Some of my friends and family members want to know what I am waiting for, but I really want to make sure that I weigh all of my options before making any decisions. North Carolina is a great school and they have a lot of tradition, but I want to take several visits before I make any decisions.”
Green, the No. 26 ranked shooting guard in the class of 2005, currently has offers from North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Georgetown, Rhode Island, St. John’s, Vanderbilt, Villanova, Virginia, Colgate and NC State.
