Green Picks Up Yet Another Offer

2005 prospect Gerald Green finished his junior campaign for Gulf Shores Academy in Houston, Texas with some big numbers and a lot of offers. The latest offer for the No. 53 player in the Rivals75 is from a Pac-10 school.
Green, a 6-foot-8, 195-pound shooting guard, averaged 28 points and 13 rebounds for his 32-2 team. Gulf Shores Academy played a “prep school schedule” and is not eligible for tournament play in Texas.

UCLA now joins the long list of schools that have offered Green. The list includes Miami, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Arizona, Arizona State, Kansas, Louisville, Connecticut, Houston, and Marquette.
“UCLA came last week and watched me practice and then offered me a scholarship,” said Green. “In the last few weeks, Miami, Oklahoma State, Texas, DePaul, Oklahoma, and Kansas State have been in to watch me.”
At this point in the recruiting process, Green is just taking everything in and has not made progress towards any conclusions.
“I don’t know when I’m going to commit,” he said. “I’m just enjoying the process.”
An up tempo style of play is one quality Green is looking for in a college program.
“I love to run up and down the floor, so that might be a factor in my decision.” Green also added, “The strong part of my game is shooting, but I’m still working on my jumper. I practice all the time. I live and breathe basketball. I need to work on my defense. I’m getting better, but I’m going to work hard at it this summer.”
