Green Can Handle Post To Point

Danny Green, a savvy 6-foot-5, 200-pound swingman from St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, New York, is an intriguing prospect out of the class of 2005.
Green can play a number of different positions, from the wing, to the low post, and even the point, and play each of them competently. Rivalshoops.com saw Green handle the point for St. Mary's in a game earlier this winter, and he did a solid job.

Perhaps Danny's most intriguing attribute is his passing ability and vision. He sees the floor exceptionally well, and has very good court awareness. The fact that he handles the ball decently and sees the floor well at 6-foot-5 makes him a tricky match-up for opponents. With his IQ and intelligence, Green's is more of a cerebral game.
Green also possesses a solid mid-range game. His game is predicated more on shiftiness and craftiness than sheer athleticism, but he has some explosiveness and bounce. Danny doesn't have tremendous lateral quickness, but he moves reasonably well and has proven to be a capable post defender and able to defend guards as well.
In the times we've seen Danny, he hasn't shot the ball very consistently from the perimeter. But he impacts the game in a number of different ways.
Among the programs who have expressed interest in Green are NC State, Louisville, Michigan, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame. Former St. John's coach Mike Jarvis came in to evaluate Green this fall, as did a coach from NC State's staff.
Danny plays with the Long Island Panthers on the AAU circuit. He attended the Adidas ABCD camp last summer.
Green gets great instruction at St. Mary's from Coach Tim Cluess, who played collegiately at St. John's.
Green, a willing learner, will be a prospect for coaches to monitor out this class.
