Gordon Down to Two

With some summer schooling and weight lifting for the first time in his life, Jamont Gordon raised both his GPA and his weight during his month at Oak Hill Academy. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound wing player from Nashville, Tenn., will return to Oak Hill at the end of this month and is now down to two schools.
“I’m really down to just two schools-Tennessee and Memphis,” said Gordon. “Basically, I don’t want to go that far away from home. Right now they are pretty even.”

Gordon said his month at Oak Hill went well. He could not recall his precise GPA, but he said he raised it. He also hit the weights for the first time in his life and gained ten pounds to his already muscular frame.
Gordon still has to take either the ACT and SAT this fall, and even though he is down to two schools he will take some visits this fall before he makes a decision.
“I am going to take the ACT and SAT when I get back up to Oak Hill,” he said. “After that I will visit some schools. I might even visit Alabama or Texas. Then I would like to make a decision in September.”
Gordon missed most of the July evaluation period while in school at Oak Hill, but he did play in Kansas City with the Tennessee Travelers at the end of the month. He played well there, leading the Travelers to a third place finish. In the game they lost to Team Texas, Gordon was unable to play as he was at the hospital receiving stitches for an injury suffered in the previous game.
