Gordon Down to Four

The No. 18 ranked player in the class of 2005 Jamont Gordon will not be on the summer circuit again until the end of July when the Tennessee Travelers travel to Orlando. Just when the 6-foot-2, 215-pound combo guard was starting to play very well, he will have to attend summer school at Oak Hill Academy from June 21 to July 21. Gordon also informed RivalsHoops.com that he is now down to four schools.
“I leave for summer school the 21st of June and will not be back until the 21st of July,” said Gordon, who is from Nashville, Tenn. “I really wanted to go to the Nike Camp, but I have to do this. I should be able to go to Orlando, though, at the end of the summer.”

Although Gordon has not completely shut the door on other schools recruiting him, he is focused on four schools right now.
“Memphis, Texas, Tennessee, and Alabama are the schools I like,” he said. “Memphis is not in the lead anymore. They are all equal to me, and they are the only ones I’m looking at right now.”
Having a good amount of academic work to take care of before qualifying, Gordon is planning on waiting to sign during the late signing period in the spring.
After picking up his game during the past several tournaments, Gordon is looking forward to getting back on the circuit in late July.
“I was playing pretty good and so was the team,” he said. “I was trying to get everybody involved and was playing good defense and making big shots. I hope we can get it going again in Orlando.”
Part of making the adjustment with the Travelers this summer was moving back to the wing, where Gordon is more comfortable. He is good with the ball in scoring situations and when leading the fastbreak, but struggles handling the ball in the back court when playing at a slower pace.
