IN HIS OWN WORDS

Goodwin has taken visits to Illinois and Missouri in recent months.

Illinois: “I went there twice because the first time my mom couldn’t go. They showed me around the campus and I got to watch the team practice. I think they are on the rise. They have a lot of injuries, but they have Malcolm Hill and Kendrick Nunn putting up numbers.”

Missouri: “I think Missouri is going to be good in a few years. They are in the re-building stage, but they are playing well. Their campus is really nice.”

Iowa and Purdue have also been prominent in his recruitment.

Purdue: “They are killing it this year. I’m going up there soon. They are nice. I’ve watched them play. They have nice big men. They all play well together. Their guards are unselfish.”

Iowa: “They have had some injuries, but they are still winning games. I haven’t seen them play yet, but I know they are doing really well.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Goodwin mentioned plans to visit Purdue and will likely visit others as well when possible. Also a standout on the football field, Goodwin said he’ll likely commit sometime after his last football game as a senior.

RIVALS REACTION

Illinois and Missouri seem to have the edge early in this one as they have already had him on campus and established a strong relationship with him. Purdue, Iowa and Creighton also seem to intrigue him because of their playing styles.
