Goodwin and Celtics impress
LAS VEGAS- Playoffs in both major tournaments in Las Vegas kicked into full gear on Saturday. In the 16-U division of the Adidas Super 64, Shaquille Goodwin and the Atlanta Celtics impressed.

Jarnell Stokes pounded the Kansas City 76'ers for around 30 points, but that was due in large part by the pin point passing of Goodwin, who was spectacular in the high post of the Celtics' high/low attack. Goodwin also impressed with his rebounding and outlet passing while also scoring a fair amount of points himself.
A tad over 6 feet 8 and still growing, Goodwin has a physical frame and bounce to his game that signals he is only going to get better and better.
Presently Goodwin lists offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Alabama, Providence, Florida, Florida State and Miami.
Stokes is simply a man amongst boys on the 16-U division. Too go along with his bulky frame, Stokes also can out quick opponents with his deft spin moves around the basket.
Jordan Adams (Atlanta Celtics 16-U, 2012)- The top perimeter scorer for the Celtics, Adams is a big bodied wing who is a composed and crafty scorer. His lack of foot speed is a question mark on the defensive end, but offensively his skill level and feel for the game carry him.
Damien Wilson (Atlanta Celtics 16-U, 2012)- The most explosive athlete of the Celtics' perimeter players, Wilson continues to improve his skill level in the half court attack. In the open court he is simply sensational.
Wilson mentioned offers from Memphis, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Georgia Southern after the game.
Chris Daniels (Atlanta Celtics 16-U, 2012)- Coming off the bench of a loaded Celtics squad, Daniels is an impressive-looking 6-foot-5, 200-pound small forward. He is comfortable with the basketball in his hands and has nice athleticism.
He holds an offer from Georgia Southern and is receiving interest from South Carolina.
Hanner Perea (Indiana Elite 16-U, 2012)- One of the top athletes in the 2012 class, if not the top athlete, Perea continues to develop as a basketball player. Along with finishing around the basket with authority, Perea pursued rebounds outside of his area with conviction and displayed a growing comfort with making scoring moves. He finished with 17 points to go along with a bunch of rebounds and blocked shots.
Indiana and Baylor are vigorously pursuing Perea and are the heavy early favorites.
Kenny Kaminski (Indiana Elite 16-U, 2012)- This sharp shooting forward was dialed in Saturday. He drained five three-pointers in the first half on his way to a game high 27 points. His game will be predicated on strength and his precise shooting which should fit well into the Big Ten.
Sherron Dorsey-Walker (REACH 16-U, 2012)- A long point guard, Walker has a quick first step and a smooth shooting stroke from behind the arc. He impressed against Indiana Elite, scoring 20 points.
Central Michigan has offered and Michigan is showing significant interest. He is also hearing from Michigan State, Indiana, Detroit, Baylor, Western Michigan, Oakland and Xavier.
Chris Jenkins (REACH 16-U, 2012)- At 6-foot-6 Jenkins is a smooth wing scorer. Along with Dorsey-Walker, he is a high major prospect who also went for 20 points against Indiana Elite.
Michigan and Detroit are recruiting him the hardest while he is also hearing from Michigan State, Indiana, Providence and USC.
Maurice Harkless (New York Panthers, 2011)- Harkless was impressive Saturday night. He played with an energy and a focus that was missing during the early part of the travel circuit. His stroke from behind the arc is on point and he can make plays off the dribble. His length and athleticism give him a chance to be a high level wing defender and rebounder.
Jarrod Uthoff (Iowa Barnstormers, 2011)- This Wisconsin commitment will need to build up his body for Big Ten play, but he possesses a skill level and feel for the game that will make him a dangerous inside/outside threat. He is very composed with the basketball and can make plays as both a scorer and a passer.
Josh Oglesby (Iowa Barnstormers, 2011)- Oglesby's shooting ability has been well documented, but Saturday he impressed with his overall floor game and passing ability. He doesn't have the quickness to run the point in college, but he ran it for the Barnstormers and found teammates off the dribble.

Sheldon McClellan and Julien Lewis will provide Texas with an athletic wing duo. McClellan also has a dangerous shooting stroke, and Lewis looked good handling the ball on Saturday.
