Good News For Shagari

Despite the fact that he didn't sign a national letter of intent, 7-2 Rice senior center Shagari Alleyne is still bound for Rutgers in the fall, according to Raiders Head Coach Mo Hicks.
"As far as I know, he is still going there," Hicks said. "The last time that I spoke with Shagari or his parents, he was headed for Rutgers."

For whatever reason, rumors have swirled in recent weeks that Alleyne might be thinking about reopening his recruitment.
Hicks said that Alleyne didn't sign early because he had not yet qualified academically back in the fall.
Hicks told Rivalshoops.com on Sunday that Alleyne received a qualifying test score last Saturday, Feb. 8. He called and got his results via the telephone.
Rivalshoops.com plans on catching Alleyne in action again in the coming weeks, so keep it here for top recruiting coverage of the Class of 2003 and beyond.
