Golson Has Wide Range Of Interest

Reggie Golson, a 6-7, 190 pound small forward from Hutchinson C.C. in Hutchinson, Kan., has a wide degree of schools interested in him this winter.
JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com caught up with Hutch Asst. Coach Eric Duft last week at the Region VI Tournament last week in Salina, Kan., and he gave us the run down on Golson's recruitment.

Golson's older brother Marcus played at Missouri-Kansas City this year, and the Kangaroos are just one of the schools in the mix with Reggie. Duft said that Southeast Missouri State, Boise State, Minnesota and Central Florida are among the other programs recruiting Golson.
Minnesota has been in twice this winter to take a look at Golson, who is similar in some respects to current Golden Gopher senior Travarus Bennett. Bennett also came to the Golden Gophers from the junior college ranks.
Golson is a very effective jump shooter from midrange, and displayed the ability to go off the dribble throughout the weekend. He can handle the ball adequately, recovers well on his leap but is not a particularly strong finisher (lack of strength) or three point shooter. Golson is mobile and athletic and can put the ball on the floor. While he does not have the frame to play inside, he has the height and athleticism to be a factor on both ends of the glass.
Coach Duft said that Golson will definitely visit Southeast Missouri, and will plans his next trips over the coming weeks. We'll keep you posted on that end.
A native of Kansas City, Kan., Golson averaged 8.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game as a freshman last year at Hutch.
