Giplaye to the Big East
Three-star prospect Ron Giplaye has been flying under the national recruiting radar, but one Big East school scooped up he 6-foot-6, 225-pound forward from Fitchburg (Mass.) Notre Dame Prep.
Giplaye will join his BABC travel team teammate Gerard Coleman at Providence.

"A lot of people just don't know about Ron," said BABC coach Chris Driscoll. "Ron is a lot like Jeff Adrien when he committed to UConn before he blew up at the Peach Jam. Ron is a lot like Adrien in the way he plays, too. He is very tough to guard on the block."
UConn vigorously pursued Giplaye towards the end of his recruitment, but the time Providence spent recruiting him over the long haul paid off according to Driscoll.
