Gilchrist to the ACC again

Four-star prospect Augustus Gilchrist had been in recruiting limbo as he waited for his release from his Letter of Intent with Virginia Tech. Shortly after being granted his release, Gilchrist has committed to another ACC school.
According to Gilchrist's trainer Terrell Woody, Gilchrist's comfort level with Maryland's program gave the Terrapins the slight edge over Georgetown.

"It was really close between Maryland and Georgetown, but Gus just has such a strong comfort level with Maryland," said Woody. "He has trained with Braxton Dupree and Shane Walker, and he is really comfortable with Keith Booth and Chuck Driesell."
Gilchrist, a 6-foot-10, 235-pound forward, will enroll in January as a redshirt.
"He'll have a chance to get acclimated to the program and get used to the Flex offense," said Woody. "Gus is an excellent fit for the Flex offense. He can hit the jumper and post up. He shoots the three-pointer well, so the 10 to 12 footer is automatic for him."
West Virginia and Virginia were also considered by Gilchrist.
Augustus Gilchrist scouting report:
Gilchrist, who has impressive size for a power forward, is a legitimate inside/outside threat. Not only can he produce around the basket, Gilchrist can also make plays facing the basket. His midrange jumper is more than reliable and he can also create his shot off the dribble.
