Gilchrist to enroll next semester

Now that four-star prospect Augustus Gilchrist has been released by Virginia Tech from his Letter of Intent, he is in limbo as he waits for the paper work to go through before schools can recruit him. According to his trainer Terrell Woody, Gilchrist has a few schools that he will soon be talking with in hopes of enrolling in school at the semester break.
"Gus has been working on his game and relaxing a little now that he is out of his Letter of Intent," said Woody. "The plan is to go to school this January, but he hasn't talked to anyone yet because the paper work for his release hasn't gone through yet. Once it does go through, he'll have some conversations with schools and then take some visits."

Woody did name Kansas, Florida, Georgetown, Kansas State, West Virginia and Virginia as schools that Gilchrist is interested in.
Playing for the DC Assault travel team, Gilchrist had an impressive summer on the circuit. He is presently ranked No. 54 in the class of 2008.
Augustus Gilchrist scouting report:
Gilchrist, who has impressive size for a power forward, is a legitimate inside/outside threat. Not only can he produce around the basket, Gilchrist can also make plays facing the basket. His midrange jumper is more than reliable and he can also create his shot off the dribble.
