Gilchrist ready to be recruited

The paperwork has all been processed and Augustus Gilchrist is officially released from his Letter of Intent with Virginia Tech. Now the 6-foot-10, 235-pound power forward from Temple Hills, Md., is ready to be recruited.
"I've been working out every day, staying in shape," said Gilchrist. "Everything is official with my release, and I'm ready to go to school after this semester. I haven't been talking to anyone, though, because I don't think a lot of schools know I can be recruited now. I'm waiting for schools to contact me and then get a list together and take some visits."

Although Florida, Georgetown, Kansas, Kansas State, Virginia and West Virginia have been previously mentioned by the Gilchrist camp as potential schools of interest, Gilchrist was less specific when asked about schools of interest.
"I'm open to any school that needs a 6-foot-10 power forward," he said. "I would like to stay on the east coast, and maybe the Midwest. But I don't know about going too far west. I also want to be able to play my game and work inside and outside."
Gilchrist, a four-star prospect, had an impressive summer playing for the DC Assault travel team.
Augustus Gilchrist scouting report:
Gilchrist, who has impressive size for a power forward, is a legitimate inside/outside threat. Not only can he produce around the basket, Gilchrist can also make plays facing the basket. His midrange jumper is more than reliable and he can also create his shot off the dribble.
