Gibbs To Decide Among 4 Schools

Corey Gibbs, a powerful 6-8, 235 pound strong power forward from Lithonia, GA, will make a decision on a college from among four schools.
"My top schools are now Cincinnati, Alabama, Georgia and Georgetown," Gibbs said at last weekend's inaugural High School National Championship at the Penn Palestra in Philadelphia. He has unofficially visited all of these schools except Georgia. Other schools recruiting this powerful young man include Georgia Tech, North Carolina and N.C. State.

Gibbs plays with the World Wide Renegades AAU program and is scheduled to compete in the upcoming Super Showcase in Florida. He participated in this month's Nike All-America Camp in Indianapolis.
Gibbs, who played at Pace Academy last season, was named to the Class AA All-State First Team while averaging 22 points, 15 rebounds and 5.5 blocks per game. He also was the Region's Player of the Year. He's going to finish his prep career with Redan High School in Stone Mountain, GA, which he played with at the HSNC event.
Gibbs' 22 points, 10 rebounds and one assist led Redan to a 64-55 third place victory over Putnam City (OK) High School at the HSNC event. He shot 53 percent (9 of 17) from the floor and hit four of five charity attempts.
Gibbs, who is RivalsHoops.com's number 38 player in the class of 2003, said he has a 2.5 GPA, scored 900 on the SAT and intends to major in engineering.
