Last week, McNamara scored 15 points and had 10 assists in the all star game held in Philadelphia. McNamara was given a five foot high trophy for "Most Unselfish Player."
And it wasn't that long ago, Gerry won his third straight team Most Valuable Player last night. McNamara was awarded his trophy at a banquet at Bishop Hannan High School. McNamara was also honored as AP's first team all State (Pennsylvania). "It was a great night," said Gerry's mom, Joyce. "They had a nice picture encased with the award. They did a nice job with it."
The trophy case is filling up for McNamara. Can McNamara make it four years in a row next season? Likely. He is one of the top point guards in the country.
McNamara is one of the most exciting players to watch in the class of 2002. McNamara is a relentless point guard who constantly pressures an interior defense with his slicing acrobatic moves.
McNamara's play has been described by highly regarded and respected East Coast scout Tom Konchalski as "great."
