German Guard on Verge of Offer and Honor

2004 combo guard Edwin Ofori-Attah continues to play well for Statesville Christian (NC) High School. So well, in fact, that South Carolina is close to offering the 6-foot-4, 205-pound scorer.
“Both assistants from South Carolina have been in to see Edwin and both are high on him,” said Statesville Christian head coach John Jordan. “They have scheduled Coach Odom to come in for the final say within the next few games.”

Two other schools are showing strong interest in Ofori-Attah as well.
“Oklahoma comes in for tonight's game,” said Coach Jordan. “I expect to see Cincinatti get involved as they have been inquiring.”
Coach Jordan filled RivalsHoops.com in on some other impressive news regarding Ofori-Attah.
“We were contacted by the German Basketball Federation and told they are nominating Edwin as the German entry for the European under 20 team in the Hoop Summit that is held at the Final Four. That team is comprised of the the best 12 American high school players chosen by USA Basketball who plays against the top 12 European under 20 players. They said that Nike had the final word but they expected him to be accepted for the game. Just to be nominated is quite an honor.”
Originally from Germany, Ofori-Attah scored 42 points in the second half against Mt. Zion Christian Academy. He also scored 54 against the Italian Junior National Team and broke the North Carolina single game scoring record with 71 points in a game.
Living now in North Carolina, there is one school that Ofori-Attah would love to have recruit him.
“Of course with the JamesOn Curry situation, we would love to see UNC at least take a look,” said Coach Jordan.
