Georgia Tech Has 2 Big Names Visit

It was a big day this past weekend for the Georgia Tech program. Head coach Paul Hewitt and his staff were able to convince solid interior forward Ra'Sean Dickey and scoring guard Zam Frederick (right) to take unofficial visits to the Atlanta-based ACC campus this past Saturday.
"Yes, they took a ride down there," said Zam Frederick's dad, Zam, Sr. "From what he told me it went very well."

Did Dickey nor Frederick make a commitment to the Georgia Tech staff? "No," stated Zam's dad, who also is an assistant coach for the South Carolina Ravens, a team that features Frederick and Dickey during the summer AAU sessions.
Georgia Tech is considered one of the strongest schools in the recruiting races to land Dickey and Frederick. But there is plenty of competition by other high majors trying to land Frederick and Dickey.
Dickey has high interest from Auburn, Clemson, Iowa State, St. John's, Kentucky, and some medium interest from Arizona, Maryland, Florida, and North Carolina.
Frederick was also looked at this summer by Clemson, Kentucky, Stanford, Connecticut, Georgia, and South Carolina. Frederick, a 6-foot-0, 215-pounder from Calhoun County High School in St. Matthews, South Carolina, has a long-range jumper that can dent the toughest zones.
Dickey, a 6-foot-9, 255-pounder from Marlboro County High School in Bennettsville, South Carolina, is rated the 51st best player in the 2004 class in the Rivals150. Frederick rolls in at the number 116 in the Rivals150.
