Georgia Stars Forward to Western Kentucky

Combo forward prospect Daniel Emerson was the glue guy for the powerhouse Georgia Stars AAU program. Emerson, 6-foot-6, 225-pounds, from Norcross (Ga.) High School will look to play the same role and maybe more for the Western Kentucky program.
“He called Coach Horn last night and let him know that he will be coming to Western Kentucky,” said Emerson’s mother April Emerson. “Daniel is very excited, and we are all glad that the recruiting process is over with.”

Emerson is a rugged banger who does not shy away from contact. At the Nike Camp in July he showed some flashes of offensive small forward skills.
“I think he made a great choice,” said Mrs. Emerson. “Western Kentucky is a great program. I look for Daniel to have a good career. I think it’s a great fit for him.”
Emerson, who also visited St. Bonaventure and Mercer, played a pivotal role on the interior for the Georgia Stars in their championship victory over Spiece Indy Heat, who is led by the No. 1 ranked center and player in the class of 2006. On one of the summer’s more memorable play, Emerson drove the lane for a vicious two hand dunk in traffic in what was a tremendous momentum play in that close game.
