Georgia Southern lands impact guard

Everywhere he went as an assistant, Charlton "C.Y." Young was an effective recruiter. So, it's no surprise that he's been effective on the recruiting trail as a head coach.
Friday afternoon, Young and Georgia Southern picked up a huge commitment when Cleon Roberts gave them the nod.

A 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Miami (Fla.) Norland, Roberts high school coach Lawton Williams said that Georgia Southern is a good spot.
"He's comfortable with the situation," Williams told Rivals.com. "The situation is great and C.Y. is great. He took an unofficial and fell in love with campus."
Long and athletic, Roberts projects as a potential impact player at Georgia Southern. He gets to the rim, is a dangerous pull-up jump shooter and is extremely dangerous once he gets a few shots to drop from deep.
"In the right situation, which he will be in, I think he's going to do really well," said Williams. "He's got basketball knowledge and he's wired to score."
