Georgia sophomore ready to shine

College coaches are always looking for young talent and one young prospect finding his name on watch lists is Toby Veal of Johnson High School in Savannah, Ga.
The 6-foot-7, 210-pound sophomore is a wiry athlete that runs the floor well, fills the lanes and can step out to 15 feet comfortably.

"I want to play the three in college and my coach in high school sometimes lets me play that but to be honest, I'd rather score on a layup or a bucket inside than drive to the basket. I feel like my strength is inside."
He was one of the many standouts for a prospect laden Jermaine O'Neal's South Carolina Ravens 16 and under program last weekend at the Augusta Spring Icebreaker. Veal knows how important this time of year is for his recruitment.
"I'm hoping I do good with the Ravens. This time of year is important," he said. "I want to play well so I can have good college choices."
Veal's recruitment covers a lot of ground. The sophomore said he's collecting letters from the likes of Alabama, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, NC State, South Carolina, UNC and Virginia Tech as well as the likes of Charleston Southern and Florida A&M.
South Carolina was the only school to come out and see him play during the high school season, Veal said.
"I don't even know who I like," Veal said. "All I know is that I want to study business. That is what I'll be looking for."
