Georgia shooting guard makes decision

One of the nation’s top shooting guards, Lewis Clinch from Crisp County High School in Cordele, Ga., earned the reputation as one of the top shooters in his class this summer and as a result earned scholarship offers from many of the country’s top basketball programs.
This weekend Clinch, 6-foot-3, 180-pounds, made his college choice when he committed to Paul Hewitt and Georgia Tech choosing the Yellow Jackets over offers from Georgia and Wake Forest among others.

“He took a visit there this week and just felt like Georgia Tech was the place for him,” Crisp County head coach Fred Richard said. “The visit went so well that he didn’t see the need to visit anywhere else and just decided he wanted to play there.
“It’s close to home and he felt comfortable with the staff and the other players. He just felt like it was a place that he wanted and needed to be.
"Lewis is a great player and he's going to play for a great coach like Paul Hewitt. You both those two things together and good things should happen.
"He's a great player and person and the Georgia Tech staff will enjoy coaching him."
Last season, Clinch averaged 25 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals for Crisp County.
