Georgia shooter will wait

Three-star prospect Billy Humphrey, one of the better spot shooters on the AAU circuit is planning to bypass the early signing period. The 6-foot, 168-pound shooting guard from Dacula, Ga., wants to see what schools will stick with him until the spring signing period.
"I’m interested in Clemson, UAB, UNC-Wilmington, Charlotte, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Georgia State, College of Charleston, Virginia Tech and South Carolina,” said Humphrey. “I don’t have a leader. I want to wait and see what schools stick by me.”

Humphrey has a handful of offers right now, while the other schools want to further evaluate the smooth shooter during the high school season.
“I have offers from Charlotte, Arkansas State, Georgia State and College of Charleston,” he said. “I’m not sure about the others. Most schools want to wait and see how I do this season."
Humphrey, who averaged 20 points and 5 rebounds per game as a junior, will wait until after the season to narrow his list and then take visits.
A near automatic three-point shooter for the Georgia Stars this summer, Humphrey needs to improve his skills with the ball and the ability to defend. However, there is always room for a shooter, and Humphrey wants to find a system that can best utilize his ability to catch and shoot from deep range.
"I’m looking for a school where I can get some early playing time,” he said. “I will look at the distance from home. I just want to look into the caliber of team and what style of play a team has."
