Georgia guard high on two

Adrian Williams transferred from Westminster, one of the finest academic high schools in the Atlanta area, to Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler, one of the finest basketball programs in the nation, this year. The move has been well worth it for the 6-foot junior point guard.
Playing a national schedule and aiming for a state championship, Williams has sacrificed his scoring load this season but taking his overall skill set to another level. He plays against UAB bound J.T. Tiller and Division I prospect James Florence on a daily basis.

"It has been a real tough adjustment, especially at first," Williams said. "Everyday in practice against J.T. and James is real tough because those guys are really good. They push me a lot and making me a better player."
Williams is getting better indeed. In Wheeler's fast-break, full court pressure style of play, the junior has improved his ball-handling and on the ball defensive abilities. He is taking care of the ball and making sure Tiller, Florence and stud junior J.J. Hickson get plenty of touches on the offensive end.
In an opening round win at the Montverde tournament, Williams scored 18 points and connected on four three-pointers. For the season, Williams is averaging 12 points, five assists and four rebounds a game.
Williams said his two favorites are Florida State and Georgia while Memphis, Clemson, Auburn and Arkansas keep in touch with letters and a call here and there. Williams has unofficially visited FSU and UGA already.
"I've always loved Florida State, mostly their football team but now that I've gotten to know about their basketball team, I like them even more. Their facilities are probably the best that I've ever seen.
"Georgia is close to home and they have really nice facilities," Williams said. "I like their guard play. They play three guards and I like that."
Still with no offers on the table, Williams said he isn't a rush to decide.
"I'm really going to take my time so I can find the best place for me," Williams said. "I don't want to just take the first offer that comes to me. Me and my mom are going to really research the schools before anything happens."
