Georgia forward ready to start visits

To fully understand just how good Charles Corbin was in his senior year, take a good look at the numbers.
Don't dive too deep into his stats Griffin (Ga.) High School, because averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds is good. Dive deep into the wins and losses.

Corbin sat on the bench and watched his team go 2-9 without him because he sat out the first semester due to a Georgia High School Association transfer rule. Three months later, Corbin piloted Griffin to a 15-2 with him in the lineup.
"I felt like I came in and made impact plays that we were missing," the 6-foot-8 forward said. "Every time I stepped onto the floor, I tried to do something positive for us and pump up the team."
Corbin did plenty of pumping up. In fact, he was a good reason why the team did a complete turn around and finished the season in the Elite Eight before bowing out in a six point loss.
As word spread, Corbin saw his recruitment absorb a number of mid-major programs while a couple of high-majors have snuck a peek of him in action.
Corbin said a trip to Winthrop is in the works and could very well happen this weekend. East Tennessee State could be next in line for a visit. Kennesaw State and Savannah State have also offered free rides while Georgia State and College of Charleston are also being strongly considered.
Illinois made a trip to the school to see Corbin while Tennessee has made a couple of phone calls and inquired about his situation, he said. Corbin said it's all about finding the right fit at this point and one school stands out in that department.
"I want to take my visits and find a place where I'm going to be happy and where I'd be able to get some playing time," he said. "I would get a lot of playing time at Winthrop because they are losing their senior post players and they need a four man that can step out and play some three. They see me in the role."
Corbin is good at roles. He played a big one to close out his high school career. He's hoping to play an even bigger one at a college next season.
