Georgia forward headed to A-Sun

Lehmon Colbert, a 6-foot-6, 195-pound forward from Crawford County High School in Georgia, verbally committed to Jacksonville University on Friday.
Colbert picked Cliff Warren's program over interest from Atlantic Sun foes Kennesaw State and North Florida.

The high-energy big man is a good get for the Dolphins. Colbert mixes his rural work ethic well in the paint but improved his shooting touch this season on the perimeter, consistently knocking down 20-footers.
Colbert visited Jacksonville in February and decided to put an end to the recruiting process.
"I went down there and met their team. I liked what I saw with the school and their coaching staff," Colbert said. "They said they like the way I play and that I should come down there and have a chance to play right away.
"They want me to play the three because I can shoot the ball really well. They like my whole game, really."
The Dolphins return a good crop of young players next season and Colbert said he can see himself working well with the current team.
"I like the younger players that they have coming back next year," Colbert said. "I think we could work well together."
After averaging 26 points and 13 rebounds as a senior, Colbert picked up his glove and went to work as a pitcher on the baseball team.
