Georgetowns class now at three

Georgetown has been in the hunt for 2009 prospects to sign this spring, and the Hoyas scored their second late pick up this week in power forward Jerrelle Benimon of Warrenton (Va.) Fauquier High School.
"It's important. I am excited," the 6-foot-8, 215-pound Benimon told the Fauquier Times-Democrat. "I've always wanted to go to Georgetown and play."

Benimon averaged 22 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and three blocks per game during his senior season. Old Dominion, Longwood, Tulsa, Clemson and Mississippi were also involved in his recruitment.
Georgetown also has added combo guard Vee Sanford of Lexington (Ky.) Catholic High School. Sanford had a strong senior season and had a number of offers from top mid-major programs to go along with his offer from Georgetown.
Four-star wing Hollis Thompson signed with the Hoyas in the fall and enrolled in school for the second semester and has been practicing with the team.
