Georgetown lands third commitment

Georgetown has landed another small forward alongside Octavious Spann in the commitment of Marc Egerson. Egerson, a 6-foot-5, 213-pounds fifth year player from Berean Institute in Philadelphia, Pa., is the third Hoya commitment in 2005, choosing Georgetown over Maryland and Virginia Tech.
“I committed yesterday to Georgetown,” said Egerson. “Georgetown was always one of the colleges I wanted to go to. I’ve played some AAU tournaments there, and I’m familiar with the campus. It’s a place I feel really comfortable at.

Formerly from Wilmington, Del., Egerson was an AAU teammate with Georgetown shooting guard commitment Josh Thorton.
Egerson has yet to qualify but is preparing for the SAT, which he will take again in November.
The savvy, well rounded player is also working on his game.
“I’m working on everything right now, but mainly my defense,” he said.
