As the available pool of talent continues to thin out, Georgetown landed a three-star small forward with the ability to help them out down the road on Tuesday morning.
The morning after watching the Hoyas take a tough home loss to Xavier, multiple sources confirmed to Rivals.com that three-star wing Kaleb Johnson has committed to Georgetown.
A 6-foot-6 small forward at Martinsville (Va.) Carlisle, Johnson was one of the top remaining wing players in the country and had emerged as a player that was coveted by John Thompson III and his staff.
Hoping to land a wing athlete who can slash to the rim, the Hoyas have found one in Johnson. He has good wing size, he is very bouncy around the rim and he can get out and finish in transition. He shoots the ball with some range, but is still a bit streaky with the jumper. The key is that his shot isn't broken, so he should be able to improve in that aspect of his game with repetition and the instruction he will get on the college level.
The third commitment in Georgetown's class of 2015, Johnson joins an already solid group.
Four-star center Jessie Govan ranks No. 45 in the class of 2015 and has had an impressive senior year while four-star power forward Marcus Derrickson is a guy capable of stepping out and spacing the floor because of his ability to shoot and pass from the high post.
