Gators getting serious about Humphrey

Billy Humphrey unofficially visited Florida last weekened. Upon returning home from Gainesville, the 6-foot-3 unsigned shooting guard and his Dacula squad had a tough test ahead of them as they faced undeafeted Norcross High School in region tournament play. Gator head coach Billy Donovan made sure he was on hand to see Humphrey in action.
Humphrey, who may be the hottest unsigned guard in the country, has been an offensive force all season long. The 30-points-a-game scorer had a huge challenge facing Norcross, a team featuring Jodie Meeks, a top 2006 guard prospect and Brenton Butler, a big point guard who is quickly becoming a Division I propsect himself.

With hounding Norcross defense coming at him, Humphrey struggled to find his shot putting in just eight of 24 shooting, including four of 12 from down town.
Nevertheless, Humphrey scored 24 of Dacula's 38 points in a loss to Norcross as Donovan watched. The University of Texas also had an assistant in the house for the game.
