Gary Ervin Has Major Interest

Gary Ervin, an aggressive 6-0, 173 pound combo guard from Robeson H.S. in Brooklyn, N.Y., averaged 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists last season for Robeson as a junior. Ervin moved from playing with the Panthers to Riverside Church during the summer at one time.

Iona, Hofstra, Georgia, and Georgia State.
He does not have a leader, but likes Miami, Mississippi St., Auburn, Colorado, and Rutgers more than the rest of the other schools. However, Miami landed Eric Wilkins yesterday so it's likely the Hurricanes will not be a factor anymore in this recruiting process.
"Rutgers and Providence are two schools that are alittle bit closer to home," Ervin said. "My parents would like me to stay close to home, so those two would be good choices, too. I'm going to take some visits this month. I plan on taking official visits to Mississippi St., Auburn, and Colorado."
Ervin told us what he is looking for in a school: "Besides basketball, I'm looking for a school that offers business and accounting. It's a free education. That's the best part about it," Ervin said. "I'm not sure if I'm going to sign early or late."
Gary has a 75 average in the classroom, but has been doing very well academically this semester, and is confident he can raise his GPA. "I've got a 90 average so far this year. I'm pretty sure that will help bring up my said he has already been offered scholarships by a pair of high major programs."
Ervin was one of the top players in the New York City public ranks as a junior, leading Robeson to the city title game against Grady. He is an aggressive slasher who is known for his difficult acrobatic finishes. He also gets to the free throw line quite a bit.
